            Team Muspellheim Fire giants first appearance in the mythic cup semi’s was marred today in what one can only called a bloody mess that rivals the infamous Hydras vs. Goblin “headless” match of 1976. It all started well enough for the Pixies of Wales who were ahead five nil in the first half. The Fire Giants by comparison seemed sluggish and slow and their powerful legs were constantly knocking balls out of the pitch and into the next county.

            Trouble began after the midway point when the Pixies confident of their victory began to taunt the lumbering giants. “dey weres laughing and showboatings” grunted team coach Surt of Muspellheim “What dem expect” When the Pixies top scorer sent the last goal into the net while backwards, reading a book atop a conjured unicycle while yawning the Fire Giants had had enough.

            What followed stunned the officials as it shocked the entire viewing audience. The Fire giants went on to crush the helpless pixies under their large iron shod flaming feet. Pixies after Pixie met its brutal soul squashing demise and giant after giant was red carded except for their goalie Shagmong Oakrump and their lead striker Wolfbane Hammerstonehand who then went on to score 12 unanswered goals as the pixies were unable to field more then three water carriers.

            The Pixie coach stormed the field gold magic dust sprinkling from his wings as the giants score 12 unanswered point but he to was summarily dropped kicked through the bleachers into a parked Mr. Chippy van where he fell into a vat of hot oil and was served up with an order of rock salmon.

            The MWC governing body announce a one millennia ban on all Muspellheim teams but this has left a strange gap in the proceedings in that with the force forfeit of Muspellheim the pixies are still unable to play do to lack of surviving members.

            Meanwhile in Ireland, their next opponent in the European North division the Irish Leprechauns have already began to celebrate their victory. After last cups disasters loss to the Pixies the Leprechauns have no love loss for their Welsh opponent. It is well known the pixies paid for the hotel bar where the Leprechauns were staying to have a two for one drink special the night before the game. The next day the Pixies were able to crush what was touted as being Irelands best chance for a cup in fifty years in 124 to 2 beating.

            Though stomping to death is not technically against the rules in games that do not include dragons the MWC governing body is said to be looking into changes before the next cup match is played.
