I long for the day that the Oregonian folds but there is one element of this poor publication that I love and that is their Hard Drive Blog by Joseph Rose, T

his writer gets it! and does a great job covering transportation.

Both Joseph and I have one thing in common, we hold people accountable for what they say, even if we agree with them most of the time.  

Here is the best example I have seen in a while a blog post everyone in Portland should read.

I always love how people dismiss something they say before they say it, as an excuse for what they are going to say. Like "I don't mean to sound racist but..." then they go on to say something racist? Or "were not equating ourselves to the Dr. King and the civil rights movement but.." 

The bike movement is at it's best when it represent reasonable steps to bring safety to the streets. It is at it's worse when it sees it's self as a religion or a crusade to enlighten the poor car bound savages. 

Go on Joseph, Call them as you see them.
