I am a perfect example of what not to do if you want to pursue a career in a creative field.
By following the path of least persistence I have avoided great job opportunities in Children’s TV, Stand Up Comedy, Game making and many other great once in a lifetime chances. For what ever the reason if something comes my way that looks fantastic of great I will head in the other direction. If you ever want the best career advice come to me, I will tell you what to do and you do the opposite. 100% success will follow you.
Born in Portland Oregon, the wonderful Pacific Northwest of the Unites States. I’m very much a product of the state of Oregon and the city of Portland where I still live. Oh sure I would like to say that I’m a self made man but the truth is geography of community made me a foundation that I have at best build on and at worse ignored.
I am and as long as I can remember always have been a storyteller. From my youngest days I can remember loving to listen to stories and that love affair has never ended.
I suffer horribly from Disgraphia a learning impairment that has cursed me my entire life. Being a storyteller with Disgraphia is like being a swimmer without arms. My entire life I have made a millions excuses for my bad spelling, but the truth is it is me and it’s too late to change that in any major way. So if something is not spelled just right… Lump it!
So I faced a choice, either put aside storytelling and get on with other things. Or make one last go at it. Try to finish a project and build on it. For the first time in my life I felt like I made the right choice…. I know I know, hard to believe.
So I’m bringing everything I do creatively here together on this page. Blogs and stories all thrown into one web page pile. Hope you can find something to latch onto.
